Texas born in March of 1961, we are hunting and fishing enthusiasts fueled by our passion for the outdoors.
We are filled with tradition and dedicated to passing our values to our youth.

Hunting

“A hunt based only on the trophies taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be.”
- Fred Bear

Conservation

"We need to hook them on hunting and fishing at an early age, so they become appreciative of the hunting and fishing tradition. This will increase hunter and fisherman retention and ensure the future of conservation remains strong."
- Rob Keck

Fishing

"Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers."
- Herbert Hoover

Our History

The Dallas Woods & Waters Club was organized in March of 1961 and held its first membership meeting in the ballroom of the Statler Hilton Hotel in downtown Dallas. The club was organized by a prominent group of Dallas businessmen for the purpose of promoting a forum for those interested in hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor education.

Michaux Nash Sr., prominent Dallas banker was the leader of the group of founders and elected the first president. Also active in this initial group of founders was Kenneth Foree, outdoor editor of the Dallas Morning News and Dick McCune, outdoor editor for the Dallas Times Herald. The excellent leadership provided by Nash and his officers, the enthusiastic news coverage given by both Foree and McCune and the wholehearted support from outdoorsmen in the Dallas area made the club an instant success.

In association with providers of outdoor experiences of fishing, hunting, and conservation in Texas and around the world, the members of the club enjoy outdoor opportunities ranging form basic fishing and hunting in the local environment to big game hunting and fishing all over the world. Careful investigation, participation, and years of experience of the club leadership maintain the quality and quantity of these outdoor adventures.

Choosing the DWWC for membership will put you in touch with fellow outdoorsmen with similar interests. You will enjoy our great monthly meeting programs and the fun of participating in affordable club hunting and fishing trips with fellow members. In addition you will be given the opportunity to participate in activities for conservation projects and trips for youths.
