Hidden Lakes Pheasant & Quail Hunt - February 19, 2021

Hidden Lakes Pheasant & Quail Hunt - February 19, 2021

This is a Members Only Trip*: We will be hosting a half-day Pheasant and Quail Hunt with our friends at Hidden Lakes Hunting Resort in Yantis, TX (about 2 hours due east of Dallas) on Friday February 19, 2021. Cord Burnett and his family have been running Hidden Lakes since 2008 and have hosted DWWC on many previous occasions. The reviews have been excellent. This is a good opportunity to enjoy a close to home guided pheasant & quail hunt and watch well trained dogs at work. Plan to arrive at Hidden Lakes around 11:00 – 11:15 to enjoy a gourmet lunch provided by Chef Cruz and his staff. After lunch we will head to the fields. Be sure to bring some good comfortable walking boots (rubber boots if there has been rain and the fields are muddy). Depending on the number of hunters we will split into groups, each with a guide. After the hunt ends, we will gather for fellowship, snacks, and beverages while the birds are cleaned and packed by Hidden Lakes. Pricing for the half day is $425 for a mixed bird package of 2 pheasants and 10 quail per hunter. We might be able to change the mix slightly as well. Quoted pricing includes lunch, hunt and snacks and beverages after the hunt. Tips are extra. Additional pheasants & quail can be purchased, if desired, for $25 per pheasant and $8 per quail. That decision would be made by the group a week before the hunt. The non-refundable deposit of $225 is due with registration with the balance paid directly to Hidden Lakes on the 19th. Any questions, contact Larry Wright laro.wright@gmail.com or (214) 679-0170. * A member can bring one guest.

April 29 to May 3 2021 Fly Fishing on the White River - Member Only Sign Up Until 1/1/21

April 29 to May 3 2021 Fly Fishing on the White River - Member Only Sign Up Until 1/1/21

Along with our upcoming learn to fly fish workshop the club will be hosting a premier fly fishing trip. We will travel to the White River in North Central Arkansas for two full days of guided fly fishing, followed by one day of fly fishing on our own. The White River has 70 miles of trout waters below the Bull Shoals Dam. Our guides at flippinflyguides.com will apply their many years of experience to position us on big Brown Trout that haunt these waters along with Browns, Rainbows, Cutthroat and Brook Trout! Many record trout have been caught here. The abundance and quality of fish in the area make this a great for everyone from the beginner to even the most experienced angler. We’ll ride the river and fish from low profile drift boats, also equipped with jet motors for up river commutes, 2 fishermen to a boat, plus one guide. Our guides offer fly rods and fly tackle at no extra cost, or you can bring your own. Lunch will be provided on guided days. We will stay in a spacious, well maintained VRBO house located right on the White River. If you want to wade fish the river, just walk out the door, across the yard, and you’re there. The owner says “many people wade off our back yard”. Also, the largest shoals on the White River, Wildcat Shoals, are only about a 5 minute walk away. We’ll be well equipped for outdoor cooking. There are 8 beds available and you’ll have everything you need for eating, sleeping, and relaxing on the river. This DWWC trip should score in the unforgettable category, so don’t miss out. Much more details later. Quoted Pricing covers guide service and lodging. Tips and meals are extra. We may cook some meals and/or eat at restaurants. 1st payment due with sign-up ---- $300 2nd & final payment due March 15th, 2021 — $350 Contact Erik Fosheim or Julio Morales with questions. • Erik: erikfosheim@gmail.com 612-803-4002 • Julio: juliomorales@verizon.net 214-557-3839 NOT A MEMBER? Bay Fishing South Texas Coast - July 8, 9, & 10

Bay Fishing South Texas Coast - July 8, 9, & 10

Enjoy some classic inshore guided fishing for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder! Relax in exclusive lodging provided in a private cabin! Fishing is booked for Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10. Lodging is reserved for Thursday through Saturday, 3 nights. Depart on Sunday morning for home or your next adventure. We’ll be fishing with Rockport Guide Service’ Capt. Blake Muirhead and his designated skipper of the 2nd boat. Boats used are 24’ center console class bay boats. Our trips will be 8 hours each, all tackle is provided including lures, live bait, and ice. Bring your own refreshment, lunch, wade fishing gear, suntan lotion etc. Depending upon the local conditions and fish patterns at the time, we may elect to drift fish across the myriad of flats and cuts or wade fish and stalk schooling fish on foot along the many flats, grass beds and oyster reefs. We may designate one boat for drifting and another boat for wading. We’ll be fishing in Aransas, Carlos, Mesquite, or Ayres bay systems, possibly as far north as southern San Antonio Bay. Wherever the fish are, we’ll find them. Check out a map or google earth to view the habitat on the backside of San Jose and Matagorda Islands. Our catch up to legal limits will be cleaned and packaged for our trip home. We’ll be staying at Blake’s rental cabin near Rockport. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 8 beds, a fully stocked kitchen, and a dining room table that seats 8. Once we get a group confirmed, we can decide a meal plan. Might I propose a local restaurant on Friday evening and a fish fry on Saturday evening. The club could spring for the oil and sides supporting our fish fry should we choose that plan. The club will bring outdoor fry equipment, you provide the fish. Questions? Contact Julio Morales at (214) 557-3839; juliomorales@verizon.net or Erik Fosheim at (612) 803-4002; erikfosheim@gmail.com. Tickets Available - 8 Cost: $500 p/person (Covers Fishing and Lodging) Meals & Tips are extra. Deposit: $250 due with Registration. Balance: $250 due Friday June 18.

Opening Weekend 2021 Dove Hunt Sept 4 & 5

Opening Weekend 2021 Dove Hunt Sept 4 & 5

Affordable Members Only Opening Weekend Dove Hunt September 3-5 with a Premier Outfitter ($400): Dallas Woods and Waters is hosting its annual opening weekend dove hunt for members only! This is a 2 day hunt with all meals and lodging covered. We will hunt with Guitar Outdoors (formerly Texas Best Outfitters) again this year. Lodging will be provided at Big Country Baptist Assembly in Lueders, TX. The cost for this hunting trip is $400 which includes guide fees, lodging, and all meals which is a great value. Guitar Outdoors puts the club on birds! They are a premier outfitter with a long list of annual clients. Limiting out is common. This premier outfitter has supported Dallas Woods and Waters and hosted members. We fully expect to see plenty of birds again this year. If you are looking to shoot this is your outfitter. Big Country Baptist Assembly is a large camp that will be hosting us this year. They are excited about us coming to their facility. This camp should be very close the fields where we will hunt. Last year we met Guitar Outdoors in their parking lot the first morning after an hour drive. The camp is also about 30 minutes from Haskell where we met Guitar Outdoors for the other hunts. This will cut down drive times to the fields dramatically. As a reference this camp is about 30 miles north of Abilene. Lodging will be shared hotel style rooms with 2 full size beds per room. Each hunter will have their own bed, and each room has its own bathroom. Upon shooting a limit the first day other camp activities include river fishing. All meals will be at the Big Country Baptist Assembly. This will include 2 dinners, 2 premium grab and go breakfasts, and a lunch. The second dinner will be the club’s traditional ribeye steak supper. Leftovers will be available for Sunday lunch. The cost for this trip is $400. Special youth rates are available for both hunters and observers upon request. This is a trip you do not want to miss. It sells out every year, and ala carte hunts will not be available this year. Registration is for members only. If you are not a member you must join as a paid member to register. An annual membership is $75. Register today at www.dwwcc.org to reserve your spot! The non-refundable deposit due with registration is $225. The $175 balance will be due in the summer. If you have questions, contact Julio Morales at juliomorales@verizon.net or 214-557-3839.
