Local Duck Hunt in North Texas (Members Only)

Local Duck Hunt in North Texas (Members Only)

Back by popular demand is our local duck hunt. We will be hunting again with Bullzeye Outfitters (https://www.bullzeyeoutfitters.com) on December 18th and 19th about an hour north of DFW. This is a later date than in previous years, and we are hoping the cold fronts will start to push the ducks south. These trips are fully guided with professional guides who are champion duck callers. The hunt will take place over carefully scouted, managed private land. Each day is a separate trip. You may purchase a 1-day hunt (Saturday or Sunday) for $200, or a 2-day hunt (Saturday and Sunday) for a discounted price of $375. Due to the relative location, lodging and meals are not provided. You can choose to stay at a local hotel or drive up from home and meet the group (often at 5:00 am to 5:30 am). Once we have a better idea on where and when the group will meet, we will share this information. All hunts are morning only. This trip is open to all members. Please purchase your tickets early since availability adjustments are possible as we try and accommodate everyone. For more information contact Jeff Beene at jabeene@gmail.com or 847-778-2290 or Erik Fosheim at efosh@aol.com or 612-803-4002.

"Cast & Blast" - Coastal Duck Hunting & Fishing (Vaccinated Members Only)

"Cast & Blast" - Coastal Duck Hunting & Fishing (Vaccinated Members Only)

Based on member requests Dallas Woods and Waters is hosting a duck hunting trip to Rockport, TX. We will use Capt. Blake Muirhead again for this trip. Capt. Muirhead guided our coastal fishing trip in July. Club members who attended this trip appreciated his knowledge and willingness to work with them. The trip includes 2 days of duck hunting and fishing for reds (29th & 30th) along with 3 nights of lodging. We arrive on the 28th. Capt. Muirhead and his team will transport us to the blinds using airboats where the hunt will commence with legal shooting hours. Blinds and decoys are provided. Bring your shotgun and shells. After we have reached our limits or around 10 AM we will begin fishing for redfish. Capt. Muirhead reports that the duck hunting should be very good and the fishing should be excellent! We will be wading some while fishing, but Capt. Muirhead says water levels are usually low during this time. This hunt is the last 2 days of duck season in Texas which should allow for the cold fronts to force the birds south. Capt. Muirhead has several repeat clients that book the last weeks of duck hunting. We are thrilled to get these two days. The price for this trip is $740. It includes lodging and guide fees. Tips and meals are extra. As of now the trip is limited to 6 people. Meals will be discussed at a later time. NOTE: ALL TRIPS THAT INCLUDE COMMON SPACE LODGING THROUGH DWWC ARE AVAILABLE FOR COVID 19 FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE ONLY. Dallas Woods and Waters values the safety of all of its members. As we continue to monitor Covid 19 surges, policy changes may be made, but for now we must restrict trips that include lodging to those who are fully vaccinated. If you have any questions please contact the trip lead.” If you have questions, please reach out to Erik Fosheim at efosh@aol.com or 612-803-4002. Deposit: $350 with Registration. White River (Arkansas) Fly Fishing- April 28-5/2 (Vaccinated Members Only)

White River (Arkansas) Fly Fishing- April 28-5/2 (Vaccinated Members Only)

Back by popular demand the club will return to the White River for some of the best trout fly fishing available. This stretch of the White River is legendary with many anglers. This spot is legendary for large brown trout (20+ inchers) along with plentiful rainbows that love to jump! This trip was so amazing last year we began planning it again while on the river! Arrival is on Thursday April 28 at a beautiful house next to Wildcat Shoals and on the White River. Upon arrival grab your rod and head to one of the premier spots on the river just behind the house. Guided fly fishing is provided on April 29 and 30 by Taylor Wooten with Flippin Fly Guides. Taylor and his guides are some of the nicest and best you will find on the river. They work hard to help you land fish. Fishing with the guides will be done on boats with plenty of room for casting. There are opportunities for dry fly, streamer, and nymph fishing on this river which is unique. Guided fishing will be mostly catch and release to preserve this magnificent tailwater fishery. May 1 you will be able to fish on your own. You may choose to wade a variety of places, and our guides can direct to spots where this can be done safely or rent a boat from a local resort. Lodging is provided at a house on the White River. We have reserved the same house as last year. This house is next to Wildcat Shoals. Last year our guides were able to launch their boats and pick us up in our backyard. Wildcat Shoals is one of the most popular spots on the river for launching boats and wade fishing. Some of the biggest browns have been caught on the banks of this area of the river. Wade fishing in this area remains relatively easy with few obstacles behind you. The house features comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. A spacious yard with a fire pit makes for a nice evening. This trip is $650 which includes guide fees and lodging. Meals will be determined by the group. Licenses and tips are extra and may be purchased online. A 5 day license may be your best purchase as you may easily fish the day of arrival and departure. At this time the trip is restricted to 8 people. If this trip is full we may be able to add people with an additional fee. Whether you are a seasoned fly fisher looking for a new challenge or a beginner who has never touched a fly rod this is a great trip for you. Due to guide and lodging restraints this trip is currently limited to 8 people. If there is enough interest additional opportunities may be added prior to February 1. Deposit of $325 is due with registration. The balance of $325 is due March 15, 2022
