Immediate family members may come as guests but all others must be members. This is a 2 day hunt with all meals and lodging covered. We will hunt with Roy Wilson again this year. He has been our "go to" guide for dove for years. Lodging will be provided at Big Country Baptist Assembly in Lueders, TX. The cost for this hunting trip is $400 which includes guide fees, lodging, and all meals which is a great value. Roy Wilson puts the club on birds! He is a premier outfitter with a long list of annual clients. Limiting out is common. This premier outfitter has supported Dallas Woods and Waters and hosted members. We fully expect to see plenty of birds again this year. If you are looking to shoot this is your outfitter. Big Country Baptist Assembly is a large camp that will be hosting us this year. They are excited about us coming to their facility. This camp should be very close the fields where we will hunt. Last year we met Roy in their parking lot the first morning after an hour drive. The camp is also about 30 minutes from Haskell where we met Roy for the other hunts. This will cut down drive times to the fields dramatically. As a reference this camp is about 30 miles north of Abilene. Lodging will be shared hotel style rooms with 2 full size beds per room. Each hunter will have their own bed, and each room has its own bathroom. Upon shooting a limit the first day other camp activities include river fishing. All meals will be at the Big Country Baptist Assembly. This will include 2 dinners, 2 premium grab and go breakfasts, and a lunch. The second dinner will be the club’s traditional ribeye steak supper. Leftovers will be available for Sunday lunch. The cost for this trip is $400. Special youth rates are available for both hunters and observers upon request. This is a trip you do not want to miss. It sells out every year, and ala carte hunts will not be available this year. Registration is for members only. If you are not a member you must join as a paid member to register. Guests other than immediate family must also be members. An annual membership is $75. Register today at www.dwwcc.org to reserve your spot! The non-refundable deposit due with registration is $225. The $175 balance will be due in the summer. If you have questions, contact Julio Morales at juliomorales@verizon.net or 214-557-3839.

October Gulf Fishing - Bull Red Run 2021

October Gulf Fishing - Bull Red Run 2021

Arrive on Wednesday, October 13, Fish the 14th - 15th, Check Out on Friday, October 15th just in time for the weekend!! While redfish remain in the shallow bays for the first three years of their lives, each year as weather starts to transition from hot summer to cooler fall temperatures, a migration of the breeding stock starts to push the largest 3 to 4 year old redfish out to the Gulf of Mexico for spawning season and to live out the rest of their adult lives. One of the most anticipated annual occurrences along the Texas coast is the bull redfish run. During the fall run, fisherman line up on the deep channels that run from the bays to the Gulf and specifically on all of the jetties that line the exit of these passes. More “bull” reds (actually female) are caught during this migration than any other time of the year. To protect the fishery, the State of Texas has wisely put tight limits on the number of reds over 28 inches each angler can take home. Most bull redfish are caught and released so they can spawn. Some slot Reds, 20” to 28”, will stage along the passes and channels along with the migrating fish. Black Drum and and Speckled Trout can also be found in this mix. All these can be retained for a more tasty consumption up to legal limits. Two days of fishing is available with our package. Fishing is booked for Thursday, October 14th, and Friday, October 15th. DWWC has booked Benny’s Guide Service, in Port O’Connor TX., to help us capture this phenomenon. Captain Benny is an experienced angler and published expert on the Texas bull redfish run. He will make sure we get on fish and have a great time out on the water. Benny’s trips are relatively short. We will spend 4 - 5 hours on the water each day. With a close-by fishery, and the fish packed together with an agenda, we’ll get them in shorter time. Benny has found the bite to be often over by mid-day, making the 1/2 day trip his best customer value. Benny has booked an additional boat for us each day so that we can fish 8 people, 4 per boat. We’ll be aboard 26’ class center consoles with T-tops powered for a maximum cruising speeds of approximately 38 knots. Fishing in October will be good. In addition to targeted Redfish, we might expect to catch surprise near shore species such as Jack Crevalle, Cobia, Red Snapper, Kingfish, and Blacktip Shark! Each day, we can buy our bait for around $25 per person. After each trip, the captain can drop off our catch at the local fish house where we can have it filleted to our liking for a small fee, or we can just use the guides cleaning table if we prefer. Lodging is arranged through Airbnb at the El Pescador Lodge in Port O’Connor. This is a very nice private beach house with 3 bedrooms (12 beds) and 2 baths. (4 beds per BR including one bunk) In addition to a nice kitchen and living area, a great upstairs porch is available where great fishing stories may be told. A non-fishing guest may be added for a nominal charge, contact us if desired. Lodging is booked for 2 nights. Check In Wednesday, October 13, and check out Friday, October 15th. A beach, fishing pier, marina, bar and couple of good restaurants are available in Port O’Connor. A small town with a lot to offer. We can also plan a dinner meal at the house. Price: $425 p/person (Packaged price covers 2 days of fishing and 2 nights lodging.) Deposit Due with reservation: $200. Balance due September 30th: $225 Who: 8 tickets are available Questions?
