November Meeting Whitetail discussion

November Meeting Whitetail discussion

Since it is deer hunting season let's talk about how to age whitetails on the hoof, whether to shoot yearling spikes, and other related topics! The program will be an open discussion of these topics led by member Mason Goff, a wildlife biologist. Mason is originally from Ohio and moved to Texas over 8 years ago to study Wildlife Management and Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University. While there he worked with Dr. James Kroll (Dr. Deer) and was attended his last whitetail class before he retired. Thanks to him however, Mason was sent to New York state for a 9-month internship at the BIC family ranch. Upon finishing that internship, he transferred to finish his Wildlife Management degree at Tarleton State in Stephenville. After working for the US Fish and Wildlife Service for a time he moved back to New York as full-time ranch manager of the property. He is now back in Texas permanently.
